2011 in photos

-2011-
we welcomed Margeaux Wren
8 lbs 11.5 oz and 21 inches
our hearts grew
as we expanded to a family of four
and a Papa's heart and hands were full
we began to understand unconditional love
in a way we hadn't known before
and we relished the wonder of new life
and we were tired
but we tried to keep our sense of humor along the way
we began a love affair with cooking
and of quiet times
we got frustrated sometimes
but mostly we were joyful
and snuck in naps when we could
we met cousins whom we'd only seen on Skype
and started an obsession with the beach
who doesn't love the beach?
and we began to grow up...and get sassy
and foreshadow mischief to come
and we loved bathtime
and climbed to new heights
and ate lots of good food
and remembered that family is THE BEST
we met cousin Grace
and saw Grandpa Reinbold
and Great Nan-Nan and Pawpaw
and perfected our smile
and gave lots of hugs
we had a BLAST in Vegas
visiting our friends
and a little girl began to emerge
we celebrated Mothers
and then celebrated Fathers
and tried a new hairstyle
and a new way to eat
and liked it!
and we snuggled
had our first ice cream cone
celebrated freedom
went to Country Faire
had a slight snag in our first family vacation
and learned that hugs are healing
and that although things don't always go as planned
you can still enjoy the journey
and make some great memories
we learned that red wagons really are the coolest thing ever
or any transportation, really
we celebrated being TWO
and relished it
we found a bestie
and found comfort in feet
realized our inner farmer
and laughed until it hurt
we savored summer
enjoyed Pickathon
and beautiful hikes
and began to explore our world by crawling
we discovered the true meaning of 'WHEE"
and undertook a huge project
one we hope to never do ourselves again
we took full advantage of water parks in the heat
and broke in some snazzy sandals to mark the warm weather
we had so much fun
celebrated 9 years
with some R&R at the beach
and a few naps too
we went on our first hayride
and found our perfect pumpkins
to carve and make seeds with
and light on the porch
the cowgirl
the ladybug
and were finally ready to gather treats
we got new teeth
and tried yet another new hairstyle
we enjoyed the ride
and made sure to remember what was important
and we ate more good food
and learned where apple cider comes from
the old fashioned way
and had our fill

we enjoyed farm life
and delighted in special time with friends
we honed our reading skills
and perfected our understanding of electronics
we shared
and tried some grown up things
but never took ourselves too seriously
we made new discoveries
and enjoyed our accomplishments
we were thankful
and theatrical
and discovered who the 'entertainer' in the family was
we learned that everything is better when there's someone by your side
and we pondered some new life directions
and worked on our repair and maintenance skills
we found a perfect tree
and got ready for the holidays
we realized the blue eyes were here to stay
and the smiles...
...too numerous to count
we reflect on 2011 with thankful hearts and eager anticipation of what the new year holds!

Happy New Year!!!
